More Kudos for Wegmans

It turns out that Wegmans, the supermarket chain of the megastore-all-things-to-all-people experience, is a family-run, privately owned company.  It's also an old company--founded in 1916 in Rochester, NY.  It turns out that they didn't try to spread beyond New York state until the early 1990s.  As is often the case, Wikipedia has the story.

And, yes, you can follow Wegmans on Twitter and they have their own blog. Apparently they have more in common with Whirled Peace, the local frozen yogurt place, than I'd supposed.
