I follow the blog of craftsman Robin Wood chiefly because of my interest in historical treen (bowls, mazers and other woodware for eating from). However, Robin recently posted a fascinating account of how to make fritters from elderflowers, a plant that grows wild in Great Britain. This is the kind of food that could be made at any time after flour was commonly made and used in cooking, which is why I was fascinated by his description. I commend it to any readers interested in early period food.
